Description
The 1–8 GHz omnidirectional disc antenna is the smallest and lightest in the range: 120 × 120 × 100 mm and about 100 grams. It receives evenly from every direction in the horizontal plane, so there is nothing to aim — put it up and it sees the whole spectrum around it.
When weight decides
A hundred grams is the threshold where an antenna goes places a large one cannot: a portable station, a mast with a light bracket, a backpack next to the receiver. The RP-SMA Male connector is no accident either — it is the native connector of most FPV receivers and portable SDRs, so no adapter is needed, and every extra adapter is loss.

- 5.2 and 5.8 GHz — Wi-Fi and the main FPV band, where the antenna peaks at 8.8 dBi
Below 1 GHz this antenna does not work. If your job involves 868 MHz ISM, the lower LTE channels or, more to the point, 433 MHz, you need one of the larger models.
One limit worth knowing
Maximum input power is 200 W, the lowest in the range. For reception and for most FPV transmitters the margin is enormous, but if the antenna is going on a powerful transmit chain, take a model with an N-type connector: those are rated to 500 W.
Which of the three disc antennas is yours
This one is about minimum weight and size. If you want more gain at 5.8 GHz and coverage from 800 MHz, see the 800 MHz – 8 GHz disc antenna: 11 dBi, N-type, 360 g. If you need 433 MHz, PMR or DVB-T, only the 300 MHz – 8 GHz disc antenna will do — but it weighs a kilogram.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this antenna need aiming at the signal source?
- No. It is omnidirectional: in the horizontal plane it receives evenly from all sides. Aiming is for directional antennas — log-periodics, for instance.
- Why RP-SMA rather than N-type?
- Because it is the native connector of FPV receivers and portable SDRs — the antenna connects directly, with no adapter. The N-type models in the range are built for fixed chains and 500 W.
- Will it receive 433 or 868 MHz?
- No, its range starts at 1 GHz. For 868 MHz you need the 800 MHz – 8 GHz model; for 433 MHz, the 300 MHz – 8 GHz one.
- Can it be used for transmission?
- Yes, up to 200 W of input power. For stronger chains take the N-type models, rated to 500 W.
